I never cease to be amazed at the wonderful love of Jesus. He loves us so much and helps us through life's petty trials and tribulations. I had taken leave from work to take care of some personal errands as well as take my husband to his doctor for his appointment. I wanted to take care of as many things as possible on my day off.
We had plenty of time to get to the doctor and do all the things that we needed to do. There were forms that had to be turned in at the Florida Department of Children and Families. There were things that we needed to pick up at the store. I also needed to get some stamps and drop off some mail.
The doctor's appointment was at 10 o'clock. His office was not far away so we would make it in plenty of time if we left at 9:30. However, when we were ready to leave, we couldn't find the set of keys for the Ford Taurus. We looked everywhere in the house. We prayed as we searched the house high and low. The keys were no where in sight. We went outside to the car and peeked inside. There they were laying on the driver's seat. Somehow, one of us had locked the keys in the Ford and no one was admitting it or even remembered doing it.
By this time, we were running out of time. I called the doctor's office and told them our predicament. Since their office was really not far away from where we lived, I was hoping the receptionist would say: Oh, let me pick you guys up; your house is only five minutes away. That would not be a problem. But she didn't say that. It looked like we would have to reschedule this appointment; that's all there was to it. Meanwhile, just because there were no other options available, John inserted one of the Bonneville keys into the Ford, (my son was using the Bonneville to go to work) and lo and behold, the Bonneville key opened the Taurus' door. Needless to say, we didn't have to reschedule the doctor's appointment. We made it just on time.
Later, we tried getting into the locked Taurus using the same Bonneville key, but it wouldn't work. It simply wouldn't work. The Lord had a hand in making the Bonneville key fit in the Taurus key slot so that we could make it to the doctor on time.
What a wonderful Heavenly Father we have. Whatever the need is, great or small, our God will supply it for He has promised. "But my God shall
supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ
Jesus." Philippians 4:19.
