I suffer on my bed of languishing,
The pain is almost unbearable;
I cry unto God: "Take it away,
It's making my life miserable."
He comes in the night season
To comfort me so faint and sick;
His glorious name is to my ears
The sound of sweetest music.
He illuminates my mind with truths
They fall upon my soul like rain;
A clearer view of Calvary leaves me
With no desire to murmur or complain.
Through grace I am set free, free
From the shackles of guilt and sin;
The revelation of redeeming love
I want it never to become dim.
My night is turned into day,
His presence brings peace and rest;
Although pain is still my portion,
My cup of suffering He has blest.
Its bitter taste I do not like,
But the cup is held by His loving hand;
He tells me that my pain and suffering
Are part of His eternal plan.
Tenderly and sweetly He whispers:
"When My glory shall be revealed,
You shall be exceedingly glad for
Your sin-sick soul forever is healed."
Oh, He is my Healer, my Deliverer,
The Spring of my hope and courage;
He gives the water of life freely
And helps me to reflect His image.
He is my Righteousness, my Saviour,
Full of sweetness, light, and love;
I meditate upon His goodness and mercy,
Grateful for blessings from above.
I am resting in the love of Jesus,
Heaven seems so very near to me;
I am clinging to His promise:
"My grace is sufficient for thee."
I am strengthened and encouraged,
The air seems like rose fragrance;
Thrilled beyond measure my heart
Is singing this song of deliverance:
I'M FREE
So long I had searched for life's meaning,
Enslaved by the world and my greed;
Then the door of the prison was opened by love,
For the ransom was paid--I was freed.
Refrain
I'm free from the fear of tomorrow,
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
For I've traded my shackles for a glorious song--
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
I'm free from the guilt that I carried,
From that dull empty life I'm set free;
For when I met Jesus He made me complete--
He forgot how I used to be.
Refrain
I'm free from the fear of tomorrow,
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
For I've traded my shackles for a glorious song--
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
Repeat Refrain
I'm free from the fear of tomorrow,
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
For I've traded my shackles for a glorious song--
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
Here are the 3rd and 4th stanzas:
I cried, O Lord, how did this happen,
What price did my freedom demand?
Then the Savior came near, and He whispered so low,
"Come look at the prints in my hands."
Refrain
I'm free from the fear of tomorrow,
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
I'll soon be with Jesus and sing the glad song--
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
Your destiny soon will be certain,
Your debts must be paid with a price;
Jesus said, "I'm the way and the Truth and the Life,"
Believe Him, and have Paradise.
Refrain
I'm free from the fear of tomorrow,
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
I'll soon be with Jesus and sing the glad song--
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
Repeat Refrain
I'm free from the fear of tomorrow,
I'm free from the guilt of the past;
I'll soon be with Jesus and sing the glad song--
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
I'm Free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!
