DOWN MEMORY LANE
One day I traveled down Memory Lane,
And scenes of my childhood rose before me.
There were fun and happy times galore,
With sounds of laughter, merriment, and glee.
Further down the lane I saw scenes that made me cry,
I complained to God: 'Why did you send these scenes so sad?'
And He whispered lovingly into my heart:
'To grow you needed both the good times and the bad.'
Forgive me, Lord, for complaining, I said,
And for wanting only happiness and sunshine in my life;
I know that clouds and rain are needed
To nurture and cultivate me for my home in the sky.
On my walk down Memory Lane that day,
I learned that all that happened to me--good and bad
Made me the person that I am today--
A child of the Heavenly King, and I'm so glad!
