The rushing sounds, sprays and turbulance
Of a beautiful, cascading waterfall
I find it a paradox that they should also
Produce serenity of heart and soul.

An artist once painted a gorgeous scene
With a waterfall, flowers, and greenery;
On a tree branch close to the thunderous fall
Is a nest with tiny birds sleeping peacefully.

Isn't that what a life in Jesus Christ entail--
That amidst the turmoil and choas of life
He who abides in Him reflect to the world
A restful calm that comes only from Christ?

"Come unto me... and I will give you rest"
Are words uttered to those who are weary;
He wants to heal your troubled mind
And crown you with peace, grace and glory.

His love for you is a vitalizing power
To free you from guilt, sorrow, and anxiety;
These will wreak spiritual havoc and will
Keep you from having a heart of serenity.

His love is everlasting; it will give you peace--
The peace that passeth all understanding,
The peace that the world has never experienced,
The peace that is wonderful, sweet, unending.

A heart of serenity is a trusting heart
It knows all things will work out for good
And believes and claims God's precious promises
For these are the soul's spiritual food.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee: because he
trusteth in thee. Isaiah 26:3

Great peace have they which love thy law:
and nothing shall offend them. Psalm 119:165.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give
unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither
let it be afraid. John 14:27.

"My son, forget not My law; but let thine
heart keep My commandments: for length of
days, and long life, and peace, shall
they add to thee. Proverbs 3:1-2.

To those who are obedient to His commandments
God will give to them a heart of serenity;
They set before the world an example of Christ's
Own light, peace, joy, and unwavering fidelity.

They are firm and unyielding to principle,
Are calm and unruffled in the midst of the storm;
While others' hearts are failing them for fear
The ransomed of God are singing this song:

Far away in the depths of my spirit tonight,
Rolls a melody sweeter than psalm;
In celestial like strains it unceasingly falls
O'er my soul like an infinite calm.

Refrain

Peace! Peace! wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above;
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray,
In fathomless billows of love.

What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace,
Buried deep in my inner most soul,
So secure that no power can mine it away,
While the years of eternity roll!

Refrain

Peace! Peace! wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above;
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray,
In fathomless billows of love.

I believe when I rise to that city of peace,
Where the Author of peace I shall see,
That one strain of the song which the ransomed will sing,
In that heavenly kingdom will be-

Refrain

Peace! Peace! wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above;
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray,
In fathomless billows of love.

Weary soul, without gladness or comfort or rest,
Passing down the rough pathway of time!
Make the Savior your friend ere the shadows grow dark;
O accept of this peace so sublime.

Refrain

Peace! Peace! wonderful peace,
Coming down from the Father above;
Sweep over my spirit forever, I pray,
In fathomless billows of love.
