BRING BACK THE SPRINGTIME
It was early one summer when I noticed this tree,
It was losing its leaves as fast as could be;
I couldn't figure out what was the matter
The trees around it were green, lush, and healthy.
Oh, yes, I almost forgot, a chlorinated swimming pool
Was situated in the yard - the tree in close proximity;
The pool man allowed the water to drain
Right near the base of this poor dying old tree.
Some people thought that perhap it is true
That the chlorinated water had caused the tree's demise;
We researched it all over to find out the truth
But no one knows for sure, they could only surmise.
I loved my tree and didn't want it to die.
I prayed to God who made the tree - to restore,
Nourish and bring it back to health with all its
Grace, beauty, symmetry, and much, much more.
Autumn came and the world was gloriously transformed;
The leaves of the trees turned red, orange, and gold,
But the dying form of the bare old tree in the yard
Was an eyesore - so hard for the eyes to behold.
Winter came - the trees in the yard looked strangely alike,
Their bare branches swayed in the wintry blast;
No one would know until Spring if that one once-majestic tree
Would need to be unceremoniously taken out fast.
Spring came, birds sang, hearts stopped, eyes pealed;
The dying old tree in the yard - What a spectacle!
It was covered with a thousand tiny green leaf buds!
God brought back the springtime - What a miracle!
