I wake up in the morning
With a song in my heart,
A prayer on my lips for
That's how a day should start.
The Lord has made this day
I'll rejoice and be glad;
Surrounded with His love
Why should my heart be sad?
The birds sweetly warble,
The green trees gently sway;
The warmth of the sunshine
Kisses the dew away.
For flowers in the meadow,
The scent of white clover
I praise God for truly
My cup runneth over.
For seed time and harvest,
The soft showers that fall,
His blessings and bounties
I thank Him for them all.
For a loving fam'ly
And faithful friends so dear
I thank God for I'm blest
To have them all so near.
By the words of His mouth
Were all things created;
He'll recreate the soul
Who's truly repented.
In green pastures I find
Spiritual fulfillment;
Springs of living water
Are my soul's nourishment.
Like a hart that's thirsty
And panting for the spring,
My soul pants after Thee,
My Saviour and my King.
Your crystal springs help me
Bear fruits of your Spirit;
They help me lead others
To your spir'tual retreat.
You make me more precious
Than the gold of Ophir;
You anoint me with oil
My cup runneth over.
Your love is eternal
It'll never wane or die;
You keep me always as
The apple of your eye.
Your goodness and mercy,
Sweetly o'er me hover;
I know you're the reason
My cup runneth over.
