OUT ON A LIMB
Would you go out on a limb
To take care of a brother,
Or would you leave that task
To be done by another?
The widows and the orphans
Great are their needs;
They sure would appreciate
All your good deeds.
The world is full of darkness
Gone are the Sun and His rays;
The people need heavenly light
To shine on their pathways.
Would you go out on a limb
To tell redemption story,
Or would you hide in a bushel
The light of His glory?
The worldlings, the sinners
Need the Lord for their Saviour;
Daily trusting His Words
Will transform their behavior.
The eternal Word of God
Is to be loved and treasured;
If read and obeyed
Will bring blessings unmeasured.
Would you go out on a limb
To bring sunshine to a friend?
The Word of God on your lips
Will endure to the end.
Your words are apples of gold
In pictures of silver;
Those who are blest
Will thank you forever.
When Jesus left heaven
To this earth He came;
He went out on a limb
For the children of men.
I will go out on a limb
To do my Lord's bidding;
It's an honor and pleasure,
I'm not kidding.
