The sounds of nature
Are amplified,
Or seem that way,
In the still of the night.
Sometimes strange sounds
Fill me with fright
As I lay quietly in bed
In the still of the night.
The distant sound of a wolf
Howling with all its might
Fills me with nostalgia
In the still of the night.
The glow of the moon beams
Fills my room with a dim light
Giving my soul a calm repose
In the still of the night.
The sound of the trees
Whispering with delight
Comforts and soothes me
In the still of the night.
The sound of a wind chime
Hanging on a branch outside
Is as a sweet angel's song
In the still of the night.
The sound of my heart's cry
With its pitiful plight
Is heard by God
In the still of the night.
