Perhaps one of the most wonderful words
Ever to fall upon mortal ears came from Heaven
And penned by the Apostle John in the Gospel
Of John, Chapter 8, Verses one through eleven.
Sadly, there's so many diverse interpretations of
What Jesus meant when He told the adulterous woman:
Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Jesus meant this to be simple and easy to understand.
But there are many who would refute what Jesus said
And teach people that it is impossible not to sin;
Such teaching explains the rise of crime and vice
At so alarmingly high rate, it makes your head spin.
1 John 3:4 says Sin is the transgression of the law.
Yet, many people teach the law is no longer binding
Which leads one to believe that man has no moral guide
In which to live and move and have his being.
Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more
Is a command we need to heed by obeying God's Moral Law,
His Ten Commandments written and spoken by God Himself,
Otherwise we will all sadly reap what we sow.
So with all that said, let's seriously ponder the lesson
From the encounter of Jesus and Mary of Bethany
That we can cast all our sins and unfaithfulness to God
And finally reign with Him through all eternity.
Let's praise God that through our Saviour Jesus Christ
We can be forgiven of all our sins and be made righteous;
Look up 1 John 1:9 and read for yourself, believe and
Pray for the faith that God can make us virtuous.
With no condemnation but only freedom to experience,
We can grow in our spiritual life and be strong;
And because we are saved by His grace, we will gladly
Serve Him and praise Him with this beautiful song:
By the crowd of worshippers,
Sorry for their sins,
Was a poor wanderer,
Rudely brought in;
Scribes came and Pharisees
Anxious to see
What the meek Nazarene's
Verdict would be.
Chorus
Neither do I condemn thee,
Precious words divine,
From the lips of mercy
Like the sweetest chime.
Wonderful words of Jesus,
Sing them o'er and o'er,
"Neither do I condemn thee,
Go and sin no more."
They told of her wanderings,
Making each flaw,
Spoke of her punishment,
Quoting the law,
Writing upon the ground
Sadly and slow,
But said He unheedingly,
Head bending low.
Chorus
Neither do I condemn thee,
Precious words divine,
From the lips of mercy
Like the sweetest chime.
Wonderful words of Jesus,
Sing them o'er and o'er,
"Neither do I condemn thee,
Go and sin no more."
Spoke He most tenderly,
Pray, woman, pray,
Hast thou no accusers?"
"Nay, Master, nay,"
"Neither do I condemn thee,
Soul, sick and sore;
Go forth, I pardon thee
Go and sin no more.
Chorus
Neither do I condemn thee,
Precious words divine,
From the lips of mercy
Like the sweetest chime.
Wonderful words of Jesus,
Sing them o'er and o'er,
"Neither do I condemn thee,
Go and sin no more."
