The origin of sin is a mystery; Its eradication from the world Would be a glorious victory. Adam and Eve disobeyed God, The One, who gave them breath; And ever since, man has lived In the shadow of death. When we suffer sickness, Heartache, sorrow, and pain Let us remember that The Lord God is not to blame. If Adam and Eve had obeyed They would have lived forever In the boon of immortal health That came from their Creator. Life and health were perpetuated By partaking of the Tree of Life; When sin came, the tree was removed Else sin would be immortalized. Though the pair committed sin The Lord showed His love for souls By providing the Lamb of God which Taketh away the sin of the world. This wonderful promise was given In the Garden when the Lord God said Though the Seed be hurt in the heel, He would bruise the serpent's head. Though we walk through the valley Of the dark shadow of death; There is no evil to fear If we trust Him and have faith. Mighty is He to deliver the poor From the grasp of the oppressor; He's the Lion from the tribe of Judah As seen by John the Revelator. There will be peace in the valley When we walk with the King of kings; He is the Sun of Righteousness Who comes with healing in His wings. Let's thank God for the shadows, They tell us something so grand-- That shadows are there because Our lives are filled with the Sun. Copyrighted © Lydia Haga 2004
