OUR VISITORS' COMMENTS, QUESTIONS, AND OUR RESPONSES
(Comments of Death, Sin, Hope, etc.)
Dear Lydia,
Your poem, When I Don't Understand really resonated with me. How I long for the time when all sin and evil is removed forever. And I think that is one of the most beautiful backgrounds I have ever seen--it looks like it was meant to be used on that page. It speaks more eloquently than words of "some of those days." I also REALLY appreciate your making the midis available. I sent that link to Pattie, too.
The Sun of Righteousness page is so full of hope. I am feeling a bit numb after losing my pet Heidi. I did not realize that I am going through stages of grief like when a person dies until I couldn't recognize why I felt too ANGRY today at everything. Then I remembered that anger is a stage. That, too, is passing.
So that started a train of thought on death today, and I realized how true it really is that the sting of death is sin. Sin makes death permanent.... that sting is taken away in Christ. And then I read your page.... and it helped put suffering and death in perspective.
Again, the midi on that page was perfect--and I got that one, too! The background could not have been used on a more appropriate page.
Thanks so much for sending me the links.
Sharon

Hi,
I came across your story when I was searching for a midi of the song The Lighthouse.
I love the way you got home, and isn't it true of every situation when we put our trust in God, and not in ourselves or our possessions.
So glad you got home safely that night.
Many Blessings,
Merryn from Australia

Hello,
Thank you for your web site. I have invited a Jehovah's Witness that came to my door to study the book of John with me. She encouraged me to pick a subject to study rather than reading through a book like that but I insisted on the basis that 1) my entire faith as a Trinity-believing born-again Christian can be summed up in any of the four Gospels, and 2) the couple of times we have met John seems to be a book that comes up the most.
Please pray for me and Alyssa (the JW) as we embark our study on the book of John. I'm reading through your web site but appreciate any additional info you would like to offer. Thank you again and God bless you!
Susan
My Response to Susan:
Dear Susan,
Thank you for your email. I do not know which webpage you read, but click on: My Walk to Emmaus and follow the links. This pretty much sums up the teachings of the Jehovah's Witness organization and gives you scriptural texts to differentiate truth from error, i. e., the deity of Jesus Christ, what the Holy Spirit is, the Trinity, the Second Coming, etc.
If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to email me. I will be delighted to answer them. I pray for the Holy Spirit to be our Teacher always to guide us into ALL truths.
Sincerely in Christ,
Lydia

Dear Prayer Warriors United (Ruth Ann and Vee)
I am greatly humbled to be bestowed this great honor from your organization. May all praise and glory go to our Heavenly Father whose Name is above all other names in heaven above or in the earth beneath. And I pray that ALL of us will yearn and covet that great honor to be bestowed upon us when at that day, He will place an immortal crown upon our heads and we'll hear Him say: "Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant..."

Dear Lydia,
Greetings. I found your website while searching for the hymn, "He Giveth More Grace." I wanted to send it, and the story of its author, to a friend who is dying of a brain tumor and who does not know the Lord as his Saviour. I sent him the link to your Songs in the Night page. I hope he will read it as it is very good. I also looked around your home page a little and read some of your poems. Praise the Lord for your website. It is wholly dedicated to the Lord Jesus, I can see that. May He bless you richly for it.
Your poetry reminds me of my wife's poetry. She writes a bit and also writes Christian music. Perhaps you would like to hear some of her work? You can by visiting www.abigailmiller.com. One of her songs, "Lord, I Must Be Yours," will play immediately. The poetic lyrics of her latest CD are on the website also, if you'd like to read them. May the Lord bless you richly.
Sincerely in Christ,
Paul
My Response:
Dear Paul,
Thank you for your email. I will pray for the Lord to speak to your friend through the pages of Songs in the Night. Yes, God gives us songs in the night, and He gives us more grace when the burdens grow greater. What a wonderful Lord we have!
You have a beautiful family, Paul, and your wife has a beautiful voice. I read her song lyrics and enjoyed them. They're beautiful indeed. I enjoy Christian hymns, and I bookmarked the site for future reference.
In Christ,
Lydia.

Hi:
I have been asked by someone where the saying, "The Lord works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform" comes from. Can you tell me?
Karen
My Response:
Dear Karen,
I think the expression came from a poem by William Cowper, an English author and poet (1731-1800). His poem was set to music, and many hymnbooks today contain this lovely hymn. To see this poem, click here: When God is Silent:
Karen's Response:
Thank you so much. I will read it to the inmates in the Ramsey County Jail this evening.

Dear Ma'am Lydia,
You are really a Christian lady, and I am grateful to God thru Our Lord Jesus Christ that I miraculously find your website. More power to you!

Hello!
Thank you for your website. I am a SDA in New Zealand and would like to hear from you if you are able.
Graham
My Response:
Dear Graham,
It's wonderful to hear from you in New Zealand. I know New Zealand is close to Australia, how close I'm not sure. Ellen G. White lived in Australia for a while. Some of her books, I believe, were written while she was living in that beautiful country/continent.
Take care and God bless.

Dear Prayer Warriors,
Please read the beautiful letter and the following prayer requests. Also if you get a chance please do visit http://www.jlfoundation.net. Lydia has a beautiful poetry and inspirational site.

I guess as Christians we know about the power there is in prayer. We believe prayer works. And if more of God's people are praying for a particular need and/or situation God will hear and respond according to His sovereign will. So long as we are still living in this sinful world, we will continue to have prayer needs.
My friend's grandmother Doris is experiencing adverse side effects from her heart medication, and the doctor she is seeing is not as sympathetic and empathetic as he should be. Please pray that the condition of her heart will improve and that they will find the right doctor who would be more understanding.
Also, please pray for my brother David who has glaucoma and may lose his eye sight within four or five years.
I appreciate your prayers. You are all to be commended for your faithfulness in your post in the Master's vineyard. My prayers are with you.
In Christ,
Lydia

Hello Sir,
I'm glad that I have found your website, and I'm very happy that you have found Jesus Christ in your heart. I'm reading about your story My Walk to Emmaus. Anyway if I have time I would like to go back and read about your conversation concerning the true Sabbath.

My Response:
Dear Raul,
Thank you for for email. I'm delighted to hear from you. I know that you love the Lord and desire to obey Him with all your heart, mind, and soul. Take care and God bless you.

Hello,
Thanks for listing the author's name on If I Could Hear My Mother Pray Again. Whit Vaughan was my great uncle and part of a long line of godly influence in my family. It was nice to see credit given to him for the beautiful song he wrote.
God bless you!

Lydia,
I just read your "Other School Memories" in the Internet, and I almost gave up trying to determine who you are. Please email me back to make sure you got this short message. What's your maiden name?
Ray
My Response:
Hello Ray,
I remember you very well. It has been 43 years since graduation at George Washington High School in good old Guam, USA. I can't believe it! The time just flew, didn't it? I've not seen any of our classmates since 1961.
My maiden name is Francisco. I was the Senior Class secretary. You were the Vice President...Arlene Tsuisui was our Class President, Julia Perez was Class Reporter, George Gogue, I think, was the Treasurer.
So, where are you now--in Guam? in the U.S.? Are you retired like me? Are you keeping tabs of the whereabouts of some of our classmates? Have there been any 1961 reunions that you know of? Would appreciate any update.
Ray, I'm sooooo glad to hear from you. I received a lot of emails regarding my website but your email was a pleasant surprise.
Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
Lydia
NOTE: Here's another email from Ray. In my Other School Memories webpage, I had mentioned that I would give anything in the world to get a copy of our yearbook for it was destroyed during Typhoon Karen years ago. Ray came to the rescue and granted the request:
Hafa Lydia,
I found your wish from one of our classmates, Joaquin Delagdo and Maria White just last week. Their copy is not the best but it's sufficient for our needs. Jesus Q. Torres from Agat was the one who recommended I go and see Kin for the yearbook.
Using a color copier, I requested copies made from pages 1 to 101 and excluding all other grades (11th to 7th and the advertising section). Sorry, there are four pages with pen marks maybe made by the kids. All in all, the pictures are very clear considering the yearbook is 43 years old and being through several major typhoons.
You are in many pages for me to identify, so carefully use her eyes to spot your beautiful being. You looked great!!!! Thanks for being very productive in high school.
I didn't remember that Trini Torres and I were voted "Most Dependable." Forty-three years ago is hard on the memory!!!
Also, enclosed is our graduation night commencement exercise for your memories. Enjoy and let me know if there's anything else you desire from our island to get your morale up and away. Smile...
Will give you addresses of our classmates when available. I just spoken to Josefina Mariano from Mangilao. She's on the island visiting, leaving next week, and she lives in Maryland. She said she might still have her yearbook in storage back in Maryland, her home for the past 20 years.
Soledad Howard from Santa Rita is also looking for her yearbook.
Adios,
Ray
My Response:
Bless your heart, Ray. I didn't mean for you to go out of your way to do this. But you are so gracious and magnanimous. They say if you want something done, give it to a very busy person.
I know Kin and Maria Delgado. Maria and I were classmates in elementary school. Josefina Mariano also. Her younger brother, Jesus was in the U. S. Army and was the first Vietnam casualty for Guam. It was at that time that the Vietnam war became so real to me, so close to home, and, oh, so heart-breaking.
I don't know what to say. But THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
Always a friend,
Lydia
P. S. Memory, indeed, is not reliable after 43 years. For the records, here's a correction to the Senior Class Officers. The Class Vice President was James Fleming and the Treasurer was George Sablan.

Hi!
Thank you for a touching website. I am teaching on Tears and the Biblical background of Tears and was wondering if I could somehow copy the whole picture of that girl or if there is a website you got that from? Thanks for your help.
Rita
My Response:
Hi Rita,
I have tried before to print out these background graphics but for some reasons I couldn't. The button and bar graphics printed out fine but the backgrounds couldn't. If you succeed in printing out the background, I would appreciate your sharing that info.
The background set came from Creations of Praise and you can go to their website by clicking on their logo at the bottom of my webpage Tears in a Bottle.
Take care and God bless you.

Hello,
This is a beautiful site....love it! Am looking for the hymn called "Mother Prayed, the Angels Stopped to Listen."
Do you by any chance know of it? If so, could you email the midi to me at twoturkey@msn.com?
Thanks!
Mrs. Turkey
My Response:
Dear Mrs. Turkey,
Thank you for your email. I apologize for not getting back with you sooner but there has been a sickness in the family. I did look for the hymn you requested "Mother Prayed, the Angels Stopped to Listen", using AOL Search, but I didn't find it. However, I will continue to look for it using other search engines. I am not familiar with the hymn, but it sure sounds like a good one.
Take care,
Lydia
NOTE to visitors: If you know of this hymn/midi (public domain) could you be kind enough to forward the midi to Mrs. Turkey. Thanks.

Hi,
I was just doing some research about Christian object lessons for children in Yahoo and found your domain, jlfoundation.net ranked 8...which got me thinking...
I published a informational site about Society - Religion and Spirituality. We've got a very strong following, primarily because we only produce informational content, since you also produce a quality site in this category, I'd like to exchange links with you. I get a pretty good amount of visitors to my property, so if I link up to your site you should benefit from a traffic standpoint.
Please take a look at my site when you get a chance -- I think you'll find it to be knowledgeable and useful. If you like what you see, please link to it -- I'll send you all of my info on your request.
I've already linked to you to get the ball rolling. I'll keep it up a few days until I hear back from you.
Kelley
My Response:
Dear Kelley,
Thank you for your email. I will be delighted to look at your website as soon as you provide me with the URL. I am honored that you want to link to my site.

Dear Sir:
I just love the story and the midi "God Will Take Care of You" sent to me by Michelle...
Could you help me find the midi of "Precious Lord, Take My Hand"? I can hear it on different pages but not able to download the midi.
To God be the Glory,
Isaac
P.S. I JUST LOVE THIS: Don't tell GOD how big your storm is. Tell the
storm how big your GOD is!
My Response:
Dear Isaac,
I love it too!
I attached TWO versions of Precious Lord, Take My Hand, I don't know if BOTH made it to you. Let me know. I like the second version better but the first version is not bad either. It had an introduction. If only one file made it, let me know if you want the other version to compare. Let me know if you get 1 or 2. So far as I know these are public domain.

Regarding the phrase "the screw may twist" that was used in The Real Hero in Operation Iraqi Freedom one visitor wrote:
Please note that the W.S Gilbert quote referred to in your article about the patriot act is from his operetta The Yeomen of the Guard and not Trial by Jury.
John
My Response:
Dear John,
Thank you for your email and the information you gave. The phrase "the screw may twist" was used in an article that I had quoted. The article was written by Jennifer Van Bergen, an adjunct faculty member at the New School for Social Research in New York and a member of the Board of the ACLU. She wrote a six-part article entitled: Repeal the USA Patriot Act. It was from this article that I quoted excerpts from. I guess I would need to contact her and let her know about the error.
Thank you for taking the time to point this out.

Dear Lydia,
I am a brother in the Lord and came across your website totally by accident while looking for something else. I just wanted you to know that I appreciate your website and your faith in Christ. I was stationed there (Guam) in the Navy back in the "80's". My family and I were members of Harvest Baptist Church. It is a very large church today. If you haven't been to Guam for 30 years, you would be so amazed at how much it has grown. If you ever get back there, I would encourage you to visit Harvest Baptist Church. The church building is new and very large and modern. You can take a peak at it at their website: www.harvestministries.net. God is doing wonderful things through that church.
Take care,
Steve

Hi!
I belong to an Alzheimers Group. Would it be possible to put a link to your site? Your site is so beautiful. Also perhaps you can provide a link to ParentalBereavement@MSN. I also belong there...Will you please let me know?
My Response:
I am delighted to have you link to my website. The ParentalBereavement@MSN looks more like an email address rather than a URL. Please provide me with the URL for this group.
Thanks,
Lydia

Hello,
At our mid-week service tonight, our pastor told how his Daddy always read the Bible around their table. I was familiar with the song, The Family Bible but your website was the first one I opened to review the words. I agree that it is worth the wait to hear George Jones's version. Thanks for the reminder that it does take time for it to load!

Hello!
My name is Becky Brandt and I am the managing editor for a small
Christian publishing house in Lima, Ohio. One of our authors quoted the poem
The Touch of the Master's Hand by Myra Welch and I see that you, too, have used it - I need to know if it is in the public domain, or if you know how
to attain copyright permission for its use. Thank you.
Becky Brandt at rbrandt@csspub.com
My Response:
Thank you for your email. I see the poem all over the Internet. However, I do not know for a certainty whether it is public domain or not. I use the poem in my website under the "fair use" clause of the Copyright Law. There is no financial benefit that I receive using this poem. I know that many have been blessed by this poem and that's the sole purpose for it being used.
Sincerely,
Lydia
NOTE to visitors: If anyone knows for sure if the poem The Touch of the Master's Hand by Myra Welch is public domain or not or where to get copyright permission for its use, please be kind enough to let Becky or me know. My sincere thanks to you.

Hi Lydia,
I was just going through my bookmarks and read your When I Don't Understand page again. I think it is the most beautiful page on the net!
While I was at your site, I read your page on Vegetarianism and on John's tumor.
I am having a LOT of health problems and my immune system is shot. Also I finally quit smoking 20 days ago and have gained 10 pounds.... I MUST do something.
I had tentatively decided on the Macrobiotic diet, but then I read your page. I will be checking out the links later tonight.
Just wanted to say thanks again. Your pages just keep on blessing me!
Sharon
My Response:
Dear Sharon,
Thank you for your email. Changing anything in life is not the easiest thing in the world to do. But if you persist, you will be rewarded. Remember Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Claim that promise often, and God will not forsake you in your battle to regain your health. He will lift you up if you have fallen (as we all have fallen from time to time). There is no short-cut way to good health, but to live as simply and as naturally as possible. I know in this day and age, it is so easy to eat the wrong things and do the wrong things because everything, it seems, in society promotes them -- from the TV commercials that we are inundated with to the things we read in books and periodicals.
Remember that God wants us to prosper and be in good health. That's His Will for us. If we desire this, He will give us to courage and the strength to accomplish this -- thus giving us the desires of our heart.
I will pray that all will go well with you healthwise.
Christian Love,
Lydia

I've been searching for a pure 100%, just-click-on-the-button song about Beethoven's Fur Elise, this is the one I used to have and came available on my Windows 98 PC. But my song was far more quality and still on a midi. How about an .mp3 or at least a .wav of Beethoven's Fur Elise? Searching for one is hard and lunatic because there are so many crappy websites that don't explain or detail what they offer exactly. Yours is free that great....
Anywho, thanks for the Fur Elise but I would far appreciate if you had it on .wav or mp3. or whatever. I'm trying to find the best quality for that's what music is and if there is no quality, there is no music only poor hearing (!*!*!) that cannot deliver the entire ouput of the composer's idea.... Remember, I want to hear like if it was played on a CD for old times sake. I have on a CD but the orchestra plays it with a guitar at slow motion. (!*!*!) Beethoven played it with a piano not a guitar although I like guitars, but not with this amazing music. Well see you later.
To show that you are alive it will help if you reply, and if your website bankrupts then erase it from the internet, I'm tired of searching for things and Error URLs appearing. Thank you, thank you and see you later.
My Response:
Hi,
I can relate to your frustrations in trying to find good quality music in .mp3 and .wav formats.
This website has a better rendition of Beethoven's Fur Elise than the one I used in Heritage. However, it's still in .mid format. You might want to check it out at
http://rosemck1.tripod.com/jukebox-classical.html

Dear Sir:
I'm looking for the right scripture to have engraved on my gifts to my pastors. They are wonderful people who have blessed me so much.
Thanks,
Glenda
My Response:
Dear Glenda,
Thank you for your email. That was a lovely request...You must have very lovely Pastors.
Here are some of God's promises that are so precious. I think it's going to be hard to pick just one scripture because they are all good, aren't they?
Jeremiah 31:3 The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
Deut 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Prov 3:3-4 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Prov 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Micah 6:8 He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
2 Cor 12:9 My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Matthew 28:20 Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
Each Day He Grows Sweeter Midi
